Dussehra 2026 Manali trip: plan the 17–20 October break

Use the Dussehra 2026 leave window for a manageable Manali trip, with a flexible three-day valley plan, travel buffers and package-check questions.

How the Dussehra leave combination works

Dussehra is Tuesday, 20 October 2026. With Saturday–Sunday weekends and a Dussehra holiday, one day of leave on Monday, 19 October creates a four-day window: 17–20 October. This does not automatically mean four full sightseeing days in Manali. Arrival and return travel use part of the break.

Confirm leave and transport first. Share whether you are starting from Delhi, Chandigarh or another city, and whether you can return on Wednesday morning. An overnight return bus can push arrival home into 21 October.

A relaxed Manali plan instead of a rushed circuit

Arrival day: check in when your booked room is available, rest after the road journey and keep nearby valley time flexible. A short Old Manali visit or gentle walk can suit a settled afternoon; early check-in and specific excursions require confirmation.

Middle day: discuss one main sightseeing direction with your planner, rather than stacking Solang, Sissu, Kasol and multiple distant stops into a single day. Access, local restrictions, traffic and the interests of your group determine the final excursion.

Departure day: keep a local visit or free time near your base, leaving enough buffer for the agreed pickup. This is an illustrative planning sequence, not a fixed tour inclusion or a confirmed departure.

Manali, Kasol or Sissu: choose by travel time

A Manali base is the simplest starting point for limited nights. Adding Kasol means another valley journey and can reduce time at your stay. Sissu is an excursion to discuss separately, with access and conditions checked close to travel. Choose the saved Manali–Kasol–Sissu tour only if its full duration fits your leave.

Rohtang is a separate permit-dependent taxi option; do not assume it is included or suitable for two-wheeler access. Ask for the permitted vehicle, access confirmation and the exact cost in your proposal.

Should you visit Spiti over Dussehra?

A calendar break does not establish a suitable Spiti route. The Manali-side approach, high-pass crossings and Chandratal need current seasonal access confirmation. Ask for the proposed approach, overnight sequence, available stays and contingency before selecting a tour. Do not squeeze a remote itinerary into the same short window as a valley stay.

What to confirm before booking

Request the stay name or category, room-sharing basis, pickup point, nights, meals, vehicle, excursions, exclusions and cancellation terms. State whether your dates include travel from home. Dussehra availability and pricing must be quoted for your group; an enquiry does not reserve a seat or room.
